Cognitive Aging and Development: My research aims at understanding what are the mechanisms of age-related changes. I study how these mechanisms produce cognitive growth in children and cognitive decline (or maintenance) in older
adults.
Cognitive Strategies: In a variety of problem solving tasks, I try to determine which strategies (i.e., methods) people use, on which kind of problems they use each strategy, how they select among strategies, and how they execute strategies.
Numerical Cognition: I use several tasks (e.g., calculation, number comparison, estimation) to understand what are the cognitive processes and mental representations underlying people's mathematical performance.
